Active Development

EffRx’s most advanced project is focused on the development and commercialization of an effervescent formulation of Alendronate, an effective osteoporosis drug (EX101).

EffRx’s product pipeline includes several other products in different therapeutic areas including acute migraine, and supportive oncology products, is formulated to be a "Best in Class" product by dosing and reduced.  The prime target is to, in a positive health economic way, address the well documented compliance problem in this class of drugs.

EX101 (effervescent alendronate) is formulated to offer more convenient dosing and reduced GI side effects in all patients and especially for those who do not tolerate Fosamax® and other bisphosphonate tablets (see illustration and data from pH-telemetry study).

EX101 product features:

No tablet to swallow (leading issue when FDA mandated 30-60 minutes vertical waiting time for oral bisphosphonates)

Soluble Form means there is no tablet to lodge in the esophagus; EX101 is fully rinsed into the stomach

EX101 is administered in half the volume of water (120 ml) compared with dosing recommendation for the tablet

It is accepted that bisphosphonates in the presence of acid (below pH 3) can cause mucosal injury.

Gastric Imaging and pH Telemetry Clinical Study [read more] demonstrates

o    Significantly reduced stomach acidity after dosing with EX101, pH stays above 3

o    Alendronate as a result is never present in the acid form, which has been shown to be a gastric irritant

Gastric Imaging & pH Telemetry Clinical Study provide key supportive data to eliminate or reduce vertical wait time
